Samsung is close to releasing a stable One UI 8 update

Samsung has been consistent in releasing new Android OS updates to its eligible phones. The delays of One UI 7, which upgraded many phones to Android 15, have not slowed down the release of Android 16, with the One UI 8 beta 4 update now rolling out for select users.

Samsung will deliver Android 16 with a stable One UI 8, expected to arrive in the coming weeks. The Korean company is currently previewing the build, and with the fourth Beta update rolling out, we can expect the next release to be a stable build, given what happened with the latest release. Meanwhile, the rollout has been limited to a few regions.

Samsung is rolling out the One UI 8 beta update to the Galaxy S25 users in Germany. The build has a firmware version S938BXXU5ZYGB. As a follow-up build, it doesn’t seem to introduce new features but brings loads of fixes and optimizations. We recommend installing the update when prompted, as it ensures a seamless transition to a stable build in the coming weeks.

    Changelog

    1. Added Samsung IMS Service emergency update feature to support high quality (HD) voice, video, and enhanced chat services on Galaxy devices (notification or pop-up may occur for IMS service update and restart consent to test the feature).
    2. Added support for full screen switching while playing videos using DeX.
    3. Fixed an operational issue with Galaxy Al Reply Suggestions.
    4. Fixed a loading issue when Bixby routine commands are triggered via voice.
    5. Fixed a display issue in the quick launch icon area on the lock screen.
    6. Fixed an issue with editing iNavi dashcam videos in the Gallery app.
    7. Fixed an issue where the message ‘Fingerprint sensor not responding’ appeared on the lock screen.
    8. Fixed an issue with outgoing calls when attempting Swipe to Call from the Contacts list with TalkBack enabled.
    9. Fixed a flickering issue of the vertical/horizontal level indicator when switching from front to rear camera.
    10. Enhanced software stability through updates to multiple apps.

While we do not know when the stable release will commence, there’s a chance the current build is the last beta release. We won’t be surprised if the company moves to a stable build in the coming weeks.

As always, the stable release will start with the current S-series flagship phones – the S25 series. Of course, other phones will get the update, but a little delay is expected, especially if Samsung organizes a beta preview for these phones.

Those waiting for the rollout should expect an official release in the coming weeks. We hope to get an official release plan once the update starts seeding for the Gala S25 series.
