The Samsung Android 16-based One UI 8 update is now available on many eligible phones. Albeit mostly a beta build, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 debuted running the stable build. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 FE came with One UI 8 pre-installed, and we expect older phones to start getting the upgrade in the coming days, as the Samsung One UI 8 release roadmap leaks.
Many Galaxy phones are currently waiting for the stable release, having been testing the build for weeks. We knew the stable release would commence this month, but we never had a date for the rollout to begin. Thanks to a new report, we now have a confirmed date for when most Samsung phones will receive the One UI 8 upgrade.
While these phones will eventually get the stable One UI 8 upgrade, we do not expect them to follow the exact date as the leaked One UI 8 release roadmap. There have been cases of a bug delaying the release of a stable build, but eventually, all eligible users get the upgrade.

Samsung will start rolling out the stable One UI 8 update on the 18th of September. The rollout will start with the Galaxy S25 series before extending to the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy S24 series. Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 series users will start upgrading in October, as well as Galaxy S21 FE 5G. Below is the complete One UI 8 release plan.
If everything goes as planned, Samsung will finalize the One UI 8 update release in November. The Galaxy ZCover 7 Pro is expected to receive the upgrade on November 10. Unfortunately, Galaxy S21 series phones are not eligible for the Android 16 upgrade, but Galaxy S21 FE units will be upgraded. It is the last major OS upgrade for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
