Samsung started rolling out the stable Android 16-based One UI 8 update yesterday. The rollout is exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series in Korea, with a global release in the coming days. Shortly after the upgrade went live, the One UI 8 release plan was published on Samsung Community Forum in Korea, detailing when each eligible device will receive an upgrade. Surprisingly, the One UI 8 update for Galaxy S24 has an October release date, different from early reports, but it seems to be for the Korean variants.
There’s hope that Samsung will release the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S24 series this month. While the rollout has yet to start in other countries, the One UI 8 rollout schedule has been published on the Brazilian Samsung Community Forum. It’s slightly different from the Korean list to give hope to Galaxy S24 users. The list agrees with early reports suggesting an upgrade will arrive this month for the devices.
According to the list posted on Samsung Community Forum in Brazil, the Galaxy S25 series will start upgrading to Android 16 with One UI 8 on September 18. Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will receive the upgrade on that same day. Perhaps we can only confirm the authenticity of the release plan when the upgrade starts rolling out on the 18th.

When that happens, Galaxy S24 users should start anticipating the upgrade on September 25. Interestingly, the Galaxy S24 FE will receive the update on the same day as the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36.
