Samsung has begun rolling out the Galaxy S22 stable One UI 8 update. It is a limited release to allow time for a few people to ensure there are no major bugs. And since we have not heard of any serious One UI 8 problems, we expect more people to start receiving the upgrade soon.

The Galaxy S22 was released in 2022, running Android 12 with a promise of four generations of Android OS upgrades. Android 16 is the last guaranteed release, and hence, we recommend installing the update when prompted.
Details of the Galaxy S22 stable One UI 8 update
Samsung is now rolling out the much-anticipated Android 16-based One UI 8 upgrade in Europe for the Galaxy S22 series phones. The update has a firmware version S90xBXXUIGYI7 and weighs about 3.1GB. As expected, it comes with new features, optimization, and bug fixes. Additionally, it enhanced security with the September 2025 security patch.
While AI-powered features like Now Brief are part of One UI 8, the Galaxy S22 series will miss out. Nevertheless, we recommend installing the upgrade as it brings other fascinating features, and also, given that it’s the last guaranteed OS upgrade. Head to Settings>Software update>Download and Install to complete the installation.
