Google has begun rolling out a new Android Auto 15.7 beta update for select users. The rollout comes with the much-anticipated Gemini support, but only supported devices will receive the feature. Additionally, it’s still being tested and hence, will take time to arrive on all eligible phones.

    Android Auto 15.7 Beta

A few weeks back, Google moved the minimum requirement for installing Android Auto from Android 8 to Android 9. Perhaps the introduction of Gemini was the reason, although we are yet to see which devices will support the new Assistantance. Nevertheless, it’s a welcome development as users will get things done by speaking to the new Assistant while focusing on driving.

To install the new Android Auto 15.7 beta update, you need to visit the Play Store. However, only download the APK file if you are a member of the beta program from the Play Store, or you can download the APK file using this link. Head to your download folder and locate the file. Click on it and follow the screen prompt to complete the installation. You will get a warning about installing unknown apps if it’s your first time installing the app.

While the new update brings some big fixes and improvements, much attention is given to the Gemini Integration. Google explained in a video how the integration will benefit drivers. They will get access to advanced search and manage the time they spent on the wheel conveniently.

Meanwhile, there are some minor issues that Google needs to fix. We understand the integration is still limited to select users, and hopefully, all these issues will be resolved before the feature is available to everyone. And yes, Gemini will be available worldwide, but it will roll out in batches, meaning it will take time to arrive in all regions.

Issues reported after Gemini Integration with Android Auto 15.7 beta update

Gemini is yet to understand nicknames and cannot process certain requests. Additionally, instead of sending a text message, the assistant will initiate a call. These were anticipated, which is why only a few people have access to it. We are optimistic it will be resolved before wider availability.

Download Android Auto 15.7 beta ApK.

Google has limited the update to the Play Store since only Beta program members have access to it. However, the APK file is already available for download, and you can install it. You can use the link to access the file and then proceed to your download folder after completing the installation. Of course, you can always uninstall the update if you encounter any issues and move back to an older builder. Better still, wait for the stable release, which we believe will start in the coming days.
