Samsung has started rolling out a new One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series, signaling that the stable version could be just around the corner.

The latest beta build is likely the final test version before Samsung begins pushing the stable One UI 8.5 update to eligible devices. However, the rollout remains limited to the Galaxy S25 lineup for now.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series debuted with the stable One UI 8.5 out of the box. Samsung is now preparing to bring the same software experience to the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.

Before that happens, Samsung has released another beta build for testers. Interestingly, this update is labeled Beta 5 in India, while some other regions are receiving it as Beta 6.

The firmware carries a software version ending in ZZAO, and it is currently confirmed to be rolling out in India, with other eligible markets expected to follow.

What’s New in This Beta Update?

As expected from a late-stage beta release, there are:

    • No major user-facing features
    • Numerous bug fixes
    • Performance improvements
    • System stability optimizations
    • Fixed an issue with the Bixby > Labs > Create wake-up phrase feature
    • Fixed an issue where two “View Previous Image” buttons appeared when using the sketch conversion feature in the Gallery
    • Fixed issues with the text, icons, and AOD visibility of Now Bar/Now Brief recommendation cards
    • Fixed a forced close issue when changing the camera area settings in Settings > Display
    • Fixed an issue where the lock screen style of Basic mode was changed in Modes and Routines
    • Improved animation related to notification cards

This suggests Samsung is focusing on polishing the software before the public rollout begins.

How to Download the New One UI 8.5 Beta

If you’re enrolled in the beta program on your Galaxy S25 device, you can check for the update manually:

Settings → Software update → Download and install

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

    Stable Release Coming Soon?

With this additional beta build now rolling out, the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series appears imminent. Once released, Samsung is expected to expand availability to other eligible Galaxy smartphones in phases.

Stay tuned for more updates as Samsung moves closer to the official stable rollout.
