Samsung has officially expanded its One UI 8.5 beta program to the latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. The rollout comes shortly after firmware builds for both devices were spotted online, hinting that the beta testing phase was about to begin.
Users who are eager to try the upcoming software can now register for the beta program and install the update through the Samsung Members app.
One UI 8.5 beta update details
The One UI 8.5 beta is based on Android 16 and introduces several improvements, including system optimizations, AI-powered features, and security enhancements.
For the Galaxy Z Fold7, the update is currently rolling out in South Korea and India with different firmware versions:
- South Korea: Firmware version F966NKSU8ZZC5
- India: Firmware version F966BXXU8ZZC5
The update package is around 4.2GB in size and includes the February 2026 Android security patch, which improves device security and system stability.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is also receiving the beta update with firmware version F766NKSU8ZZC5. Just like the Fold7 build, the download size is approximately 4.2GB and it also integrates the February 2026 security patch.
New AI features and system tweaks
While the beta changelog is still limited, the update reportedly introduces new AI-powered features, refinements to system performance, and interface tweaks designed to improve the overall foldable experience.
Since this is an early beta build, more changes and improvements are expected to arrive in future beta updates before the stable release.
How to join the One UI 8.5 beta program
If you own either the Galaxy Z Fold7 or Galaxy Z Flip7, you can enroll in the beta program through the Samsung Members app.
Open the app, sign in with your Samsung account, and look for the One UI Beta Program banner on the home page. After completing registration, you can install the update by navigating to:
Settings → Software update → Download and install
