Samsung is working on expanding AirDrop support via Quick Share to more devices, having released it for the Galaxy S26 series phones. A new update is now being prepared for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, and the Galaxy Z Fold7, which will enable AirDrop-like sharing for these devices.

    AirDrop support

Samsung seems to have tied the support to One UI 8.5, and hence, the plan is to enable the function with the next One UI 8.5 Beta build. That means only those participating in the beta program will receive the AirDrop-like sharing. Wider availability will start when the stable version of the latest iteration of One UI starts seeding.

Details of AirDrop support coming to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy Z Fold7

According to Tarun Vats, a new build with a firmware version ending with ZZD1 for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 will bring AirDrop support. According to the tipster, the function is already working on these builds, and hence, will arrive for eligible users with the rollout.

Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for when the rollout will commence. Samsung is expected to release the build in the coming days, and you can follow our Telegram channel for updates.

If you have yet to understand how the AirDrop-like sharing works, you should check this post. It’s basically being able to share files with iOS devices seamlessly. It started with the Pixel 10 series and gradually expanded to more Android phones.
