Samsung has expanded the One UI 8.5 beta program to the Galaxy A-series phones. The update has been released for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35, both of which, for now, don’t have support for AirDrop-like sharing.

AirDrop support via Quick Share is expanding to more Android phones. Samsung currently has the most phones with support, and it’s expected to expand to more devices. Given that the Pixel 10a supports the feature, some mid-range phones will receive it later. Nevertheless, it’s only the One UI 8.5 features that are rolling out for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35.
Details of the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 One UI 8.5 Beta update
The Galaxy A55 is the same phone as the Galaxy Quantum 5. So far, Samsung has released the One UI 8.5 Beta update in its home country. We expect an expansion to other countries in the coming days. For the Galaxy A35, users in India and Korea are receiving the One UI 8.5 update.
Aside from the UI changes, the update bumps the Android security patch level to April 2025. Of course, only those enrolled in the One UI 8.5 Beta program are receiving the update. You can participate by using the Samsung Members app and clicking on the One UI 8.5 banner.
