POCO phones come pre-installed with Xiaomi HyperOS, and the POCO F7 debuted running HyperOS 2. It is the current version of Xiaomi’s Android skin, which is based on Android 15, and we expect Android 16 to arrive with HyperOS 3. Of course, the POCO F7 will receive the upgrade, and plans have started with the upcoming update.
POCO F7 arrived in June, running Android 15-based HyperOS 2 build. Since the release, there have been point upgrades to improve the performance and resolve issues. The latest POCO F7 update is HyperOS 2.1, meaning the device is due for another update soon. It seems like it, according to reports, hinting at a new update later this month.
Meanwhile, the latest POCO F7 update is rolling out with a version number OS2.0.102.0 VOLINXM. It is a stable beta build, meaning only select users have access to the build. Also, it is limited to those in India, and it seems to be rolling out in response to the problems reported by the POCO community.
Changes coming with the latest POCO F7 update

The new update focuses on camera improvement. After the upgrade, users will get more Natural skin tones and facial details in portraits with improved facial contrast and accurate brightness. Sharper photos and Superior HDR control are other improvements Xiaomi is promising with the new update. Also, it promises real and accurate “Greens and Landscape.”
Aside from improving the camera quality, the update optimized performance and security. It bumps the Android security patch level to June 2025. We recommend installing the update when prompted, or you can check the Updater app.

Xiaomi is rolling out the update in batches. It is currently exclusive to Mi Pilot members in India. We expect wider availability in the coming days, and hopefully, other regions will start receiving the upgrade as well. We recommend installing the update when prompted, as it prepares the device for a seamless transition to Android 16.
Unfortunately, we do not know when the POCO F7 Android 16 update will start rolling out. However, we know that Xiaomi is working on the release, and perhaps we will get an official confirmation soon. You can bookmark our page to know when the upgrade is available for your device.
