The August 2025 Google Play system update, initially announced last month but delayed, is finally rolling out. Until now, most eligible devices were still running the June 2025 build. The new update is being released in batches, so it may take some time to reach all supported phones.
The update covers more than a dozen Google apps and services, including the Play Store and Play Services, bringing performance improvements and enhanced security.
What’s New in the August 2025 Google Play System Update
The update is available for Samsung and Pixel devices, weighing around 70MB. It delivers new features, optimizations, and bug fixes. However, not all changes will be visible to end-users, as some are meant for developers or background system functions.

How to Install
To check for and install the update, go to:
Settings > Security & privacy > System & updates
Then follow the on-screen instructions and reboot your device once installation is complete.
