Smart watches are now equipped with many health features. Users can monitor their health from their wrist, thanks to recent innovations. For months, some Galaxy Watch users have been able to monitor their blood pressure from their Watch, but it was limited to a few regions. Unfortunately, the US is one of the countries waiting for the feature, but it’s now rolling out in batches in that region.

According to reports, the Blood pressure monitoring has gone live in the US. It’s a staged rollout as usual and will eventually arrive at all eligible Watches. However, there are a few things you need to do before you can use your Smart Watch to monitor your blood pressure.
How does Samsung’s blood pressure monitoring feature work?
The blood pressure monitor is one of the more demanding Samsung Health features, as it can’t be used out of the box without extra accessories — or one, to be precise.
- Before you can use it on your Galaxy Watch, you need to calibrate the wearable and define a baseline measurement using a blood pressure upper arm cuff.
- To maintain accuracy over time, Galaxy Watch users are required to recalibrate their devices with a cuff every 28 days.
- Samsung’s Health Monitor app also has to be installed on the connected smartphones via the Galaxy Store.
All these requirements are necessary before you can start reading your blood pressure from your Watch. Additionally, you can use the Health Monitor app on your Galaxy phone.
Meanwhile, not all Generations of Galaxy Watch are receiving the feature. Only those living in the US and using the Galaxy Watch 4 and later are eligible. Your smartwatch must be running Wear OS 4.0, and Android 12 or higher is required for the Watch and connected smartphone.
It’s important to note that this feature will not prevent high blood pressure or treat it. You can, however, protect yourself with great insight to make more informed decisions on your health.
