While Samsung has yet to start the stable One UI 8.5 release, more phones have joined the beta program. Interestingly, the company plans to expand the program to more devices, as a new report has surfaced suggesting the Galaxy A36 One UI 8.5 beta update could be on the way.

Before the current Beta program, Samsung had always limited the beta builds to its flagship phones and a few mid-range devices. There have been some changes, as for the first time, a beta program is being organized for the Fan Edition of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series phones. Something that has never happened before, meaning we could as well see the Galaxy A36 One UI 8.5 Beta update soon.
Details of the Galaxy A36 One UI 8.5 Beta update
According to Tarun Vats, a firmware version A366EXXU8ZZD1 belonging to the Galaxy A36 has been spotted on the company’s servers. Given the build number, it’s either a test build or a beta build, meaning we might start seeing signs of a potential release in the coming days.
Of course, these reports are all rumors until Samsung confirms them or we start seeing a rollout for the Galaxy A36. Nevertheless, we are optimistic that the update will arrive for the mid-range phone as the Galaxy A57 and A37 have been seen running One UI 8.5. It’s a matter of when and not if, and hence, we recommend following our Telegram channel to know when the rollout commences.
