Samsung recently announced it is bringing the One UI 8 Beta program to Galaxy S24 and S23 users. While the company expects to start the rollout in the coming weeks, it did not say when exactly. Thanks to recent reports, we might start seeing the much-anticipated upgrade next week.
It took over two months for Samsung to announce One UI 8 Beta for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23. The duo was always eligible for the program but didn’t get a timeframe until recently. Now, we have a release date. Samsung is tipped to start the Beta preview for the duo starting August 13.
Details of the Galaxy S24 and S23 One UI 8 Beta release date

According to Tarun Vats, Samsung is likely rolling out the One UI 8 Beta update for the Galaxy S24 on August 13. That’s six days from today, but I will wait until September 8 before commencing the release for eligible Galaxy S23 owners. Meanwhile, since the company is full of surprises, the date might not be accurate, and hence, the rollout might start a day or two before or after the mentioned dates.
We already know what features Samsung is bringing to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 with One UI 8. Of course, Android 16 is part of it with other customizations and enhancements. We do not expect the preview to last for months, especially since it took over 2 months to preview it on the Galaxy S25.
The South Korean company will start stable release in September, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. We expect Galaxy S24 owners to get the upgrade a few weeks after that, meaning the testing on the device will be swift. Nevertheless, we advise you to bookmark our page, as beta previews are never straightforward.
