Samsung is still finalizing the rollout of One UI 8, but the company is already preparing the next iteration — One UI 8.5. According to new reports, Samsung has been developing the update for several months, and it’s expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. As always, older Galaxy models will also receive the upgrade in the following months.

Before the official release, Samsung plans to run a beta testing program for select users. Sources suggest that the Galaxy S25 series will be among the first to test the new build. Since One UI 8.5 is a minor, mid-cycle upgrade, beta access may be limited to a few flagship models.
Samsung One UI 8.5 Release Schedule
Samsung is expected to launch One UI 8.5 with the Galaxy S26 series in January 2026. The beta program could begin as early as the last week of November 2025, or sometime during the week starting November 24, according to SamMobile.
Traditionally, Samsung hasn’t offered beta programs for mid-cycle One UI versions. However, the company has recently shifted its release patterns — One UI 7 arrived much later than usual, and Google’s updated Android release cycle has further influenced Samsung’s timing.
Given these changes, a beta program for One UI 8.5 makes perfect sense. It will allow Samsung to test new features, gather user feedback, and fix potential issues ahead of the stable rollout. With this approach, the company aims to deliver a smoother, more refined experience once One UI 8.5 officially arrives.
