Samsung has recently finalized the One UI 8 Beta program with the release of the stable build. The Korean company is not wasting time, as they have started working on the next iteration of One UI, One UI 8.5. A new build has been spotted on the official servers, and it’s for the Galaxy S25 series.

Perhaps Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S26 series phones with One UI 8.5. There were reports earlier in the year about that possibility, and it seems the company will go that route. And with the build being tested by the Galaxy S25, Samsung will likely bring it to older models when it starts rolling out.

Details of Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update

Samsung has yet to confirm the One UI 8.5 update, but we are now certain they are working on it. The new build with a firmware version S938BXXU5CYIA means work has started on the point upgrade. Unfortunately, we do not know any features that will debut with it, but we are optimistic about new AI-powered assistants.

There are rumors on the rumor mill that Samsung is working on an update to the Samsung Browser. Expected to debut with the Galaxy S26, it will be tied to the One UI 8.5, given that it will be pre-installed on the next S-series flagship phones.

Samsung will debut the Galaxy S26 in January 2026. That’s when they will release One UI 8.5, and since we are now hearing more about it, we expect to find out about the features it will bring. We understand the upgrade will arrive for many Samsung phones, and you can check below whether your device is eligible.
