Samsung has started the stable One UI 8 release as expected. The rollout is exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, and that won’t change until next month at least. It contradicts early reports suggesting the S24 series will get upgraded to Android 16 later this month.

A new stable One UI 8 release plan has been released. This time, posted in the Korean Community Forum. While the time frame is for the region, it’s probably going to be the same for the global units. And if that’s the case, then most Samsung phones will get stable One UI 8 in October and November.

Details of the new stable One UI 8 release plan

Samsung will need some time to test the stable One UI 8 build with Galaxy S25 series users before committing to wider availability. That’s likely the case since the company will not release the upgrade to other phones until October. And when that happens, the Galaxy S24 units will be the first to get the new OS.

Starting from September, the Galaxy S25 series will start getting the new upgrade. It’s already available in select regions, and we expect wider availability in the coming days.
