September 2025 Google Play system update is now rolling out

Announced towards the beginning of the month, the September 2025 Google Play System update has started rolling out. We can confirm the rollout has begun for Samsung phones, while we hope Pixel and other Android devices receive the upgrade soon.

Some Google Pixel owners are currently on the June/July version of the Google Play System updates. While they are announced monthly like security patches, the release is never consistent. It takes months before it starts rolling out, and that has always been the case. However, you can download the September version now.

Details of the September 2025 Google Play System update

Over 17 apps make up the Android system, including the Play Store and Play Services. It’s recommended to install these updates when they arrive, as they mostly come with new features, bug fixes, and optimizations. The latest build brings loads of new features, although some are exclusive to developers, while many might not make it to end-users.

Nevertheless, we recommend installing the update, given its importance and features coming with it.
