Sony is not among the first smartphone companies to release a new OS upgrade. The company has, in the past, been called out for leaving it late before rolling out a new OS. They seem to have improved with the stable Android 16 rollout, given the update has been seeding for some weeks now.

Sony has since released stable Android 16 for the Xperia 1 VII, Xperia 1 VI, and Xperia 10 VI. The Android 16 update for the Xperia 10 VII is the fourth device from the company to upgrade to a new OS. Interestingly, the device only arrived in September, something that’s new for the company.
Details of the stable Android 16 for the Xperia 10 VII
Sony is rolling out a new OTA update with a build number 72.1.A.2.65. The update size is 1GB; perhaps you need Wi-fi to install the update. We recommend doing so, as the update includes many new features, optimizations, and bug fixes.
Meanwhile, we understand Sony has limited the rollout to Europe and Japan. Of course, other regions will get the update soon. Below is the complete changelog.
