Xiaomi has made big progress since switching to HyperOS from MIUI. The stability of their Android skin improved massively with only a few bugs reported after a new update, unlike before. However, like other custom skins, there is always a possibility of a bug after a new update. That is the case with some Xiaomi phone users, as they are finding it difficult to register to a 5G network.

Every week, Xiaomi releases a bug report highlighting issues being widely reported and the progress they have made to resolve those they have already acknowledged. The latest report suggests some Xiaomi phone users are unable to register to a 5G network. We understand the issue is limited to a particular device and region.

Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G, also POCO C75 in some regions, recently started having issues registering to a 5G network. The problem seems to have started after a recent update with a build number of OS2.0.201.0.VGVINXM. The software number shows the update is exclusive to Indian users, meaning they are the ones affected.

We do not know what is causing the issue, but some things have been pointed out. Ensure your carrier is not having problems with their 5G connectivity. Also, ensure there is enough 5G coverage where you are staying. Other things are checking supported bands to see if they are available on your Xiaomi phone. The last thing should be checking for a new update, as the issue is associated with a recent release. Xiaomi needs to release a new update to address the bug, but we do not know when, as they are still analyzing it.

Perhaps they need more people to submit a report with logs using the feedback app to further analyze the issue. We recommend that everyone experiencing a problem registering to a 5G network, even on a different phone, send a log so the company can fix the bug.

While we wait for the official release of a fix build, check the update app frequently for a new update. Oftentimes, the company starts rolling out a fix build without any announcement. Also, use the comment box to let us know if you cannot register to a 5G network or when a new update starts seeding.
