Xiaomi has officially announced HyperOS 3 globally. The much-anticipated upgrade brings new features and optimization. Finally, we can say the gap between the Global and Chinese versions of HyperOS has been bridged. Additionally, their rollout schedule is identical, with the global release commencing before next month.
Almost a month after the Chinese announcement, HyperOS 3 is now official for global users. As expected, the update brings improved user experience, enhances performance with AI integration, and marks a new era of connectivity. Unfortunately, some phones will miss out on a few features, given the resources required to operate them.
Features of Xiaomi HyperOS 3 Global

Xiaomi HyperOS 3 did not bring many user-facing changes as the company is focusing on improving existing features. With the new OS upgrade, the company has made a big leap in user experience, AI integration, security, connectivity, and other areas.
Improved User Experience
Xiaomi has introduced new features to boost users’ experience. The user interface has been revamped with new icons and changes to the battery and signal symbols. They now look more modern with inspiration from Apple iOS. Additionally, Xiaomi is adding cinematic wallpaper in HyperOS, so users can animate their favorite wallpaper.

The company has also taken the initiative from Apple with the introduction of Hyper Island. First debuted for Chinese users, global users now have a dynamic way to interact with notifications. Ongoing tasks will be displayed in a pill-shaped container, like a stop watch, live notification, ongoing calls, and others.

Improved performance, thanks to AI integration
Xiaomi said they have achieved a 30% improvement in performance with HyperOS 3. Hence, the operation on the device will feel faster and more responsive than ever. Animation is better with the smoothness in launching and closing apps.
Thanks to Hyper AI, which is making its way to global users for the first time with all supported features. There are many AI-powered features to improve users’ experience and interaction with their device.
AI note writing to help you quickly jot down thoughts and ideas.
AI provides descriptions of images and objects.
AI voice translation for seamless communication.
AI noise reduction for crystal-clear audio recordings.
An AI search function that lets you find anything you need on your device.
The improvements extend to the gallery as well. The gallery app is now smarter and can recognize 10 common categories like food and landscape. This will help to bring precise, relevant results immediately. An option to turn your favorite photos into videos with one tap is also available.
Xiaomi HyperConnect
Xiaomi improved its connectivity with HyperOS. The company brings a bigger upgrade with HyperOS 3. It brings a more open ecosystem, “now supporting even stronger cross-ecosystem interconnectivity that connects seamlessly with Apple devices.”

Touch to Share is another feature that’s coming with HyperOS 3. To share photos, video files, and Wi-Fi passwords, you can just touch devices together. Interestingly, this feature works well with Apple devices.
