Xiaomi has officially started the release of HyperOS 3, but for Beta testers. The rollout is limited to Chinese users, with global unveiling expected in the coming days. Fortunately, we do not have to wait until then to know which phones will receive the update globally. Nine phones have just been confirmed to be excluded from the upcoming HyperOS 3 rollout.
A handful of Xiaomi phones will start getting an upgrade to HyperOS in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, not all phones are eligible, and while the company has not announced those devices that it won’t upgrade to HyperOS 3, we are certain these nine phones won’t be getting any upgrade.

Xiaomi phones confirmed to miss out on HyperOS 3
Xiaomi has begun rolling out the HyperOS 3 Beta update in China, starting with select devices. The initial rollout prioritizes flagship models, while mid-range and entry-level phones are further down the list. However, some premium models will miss out entirely, as they have already passed their official support period.
Xiaomi typically provides up to four years of software support, with mid-range devices limited to two major Android OS upgrades. As a result, any device released more than four years ago is unlikely to receive the latest HyperOS version.
Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro: Launched in 2021, the devices will elapse their support period on September 23, 2025. There won’t be enough time for the HyperOS 3 upgrade, and besides, it’s been months since a new update arrived for the duo.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE and Mi 11 LE: Currently running Android 14-based HyperOS 2. Missed out on Android 15, and has just been confirmed to miss out on HyperOS 3.
POCO M5 and Redmi 11 Prime 4G: Received just one major Android OS upgrade. Both devices are currently on Android 14 and will not get any further Android updates going forward. Their official support period is scheduled to end on September 9, 2025.
Redmi A1, Redmi A1+, and POCO C50: These are entry-level devices. They have not received a new update for over a year now. While their support period won’t elapse until September 23, they will not receive an upgrade to HyperOS.
What happens after these phones stop getting updates
It’s only the support that is ending, as the devices will keep working. Meanwhile, a new update might be released to resolve any security flaws, although that rarely happens, at least for Xiaomi phones. We will recommend upgrading to a new phone to continue getting updates.
