Two months have passed since Samsung released the first One UI 8 Beta update to the Galaxy S25 series. The device recently got the One UI 8 Beta 4 update, and that might be the last build before a stable release. Samsung has now announced when it plans to release the stable Android 16-based One UI 8 update, and it’s not far away.
It’s been a few weeks since Google released stable Android 16 to Pixel users, and with the recent development, Samsung users will soon start getting the upgrade. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to receive the update first, with other eligible phones starting the beta program during this time.
Details of stable Android 16-based One UI 8 update

Samsung has announced plans to release a stable One UI 8 update in September. The first phone to receive the update will be the Galaxy S25 series. It will probably take a while before other phones start getting the stable build, as they have yet to start a beta preview.
According to Samsung, starting next week, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will start getting the One UI 8 Beta build. The program will last for a few weeks before a stable version is released, meaning the devices will not get upgraded to a stable build immediately.
Nevertheless, we expect a swift beta program for these phones. We do not expect it to last for months as the company only plans to confirm how smooth the build is, having taken over two months to preview it for the Galaxy S25 series.
We are excited about the One UI 8 upgrade, as it brings a handful of new features. There have been a few redesigns, with the Quick Share getting a fair bit. The update will allow more alarms, calendar, and reminder management features. Modes and Routines get new actions and conditions, while multitasking will be enhanced with split-screen mode and DeX improvements.
