Samsung is wasting no time preparing its next major software update. Reports indicate that the company has begun internal testing of One UI 9, based on Android 17, for several Galaxy A-series smartphones, including the Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A34, and Galaxy A57.

The development marks an important step in Samsung’s software roadmap, suggesting that the company is expanding One UI 9 testing beyond its flagship devices and into its popular mid-range lineup.

One UI 9 Testing Expands to More Galaxy Phones

Firmware files linked to One UI 9 have recently appeared on Samsung’s test servers for the Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A34, and Galaxy A57. These early software builds indicate that Samsung engineers are actively working on bringing Android 17 features to the devices.

The Galaxy A34 was spotted with firmware version A346BXXUFGZF1, while the Galaxy A17 5G and Galaxy A57 have also appeared with their own One UI 9 test builds on Samsung’s servers.

Although internal testing does not guarantee an immediate release, it is often one of the earliest signs that a software update is progressing toward beta and stable deployment.

Samsung’s One UI 9 Rollout Is Gaining Momentum

Samsung has already launched the One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series in select markets. Recent reports also suggest that development is underway for flagship devices such as the Galaxy S25 lineup.

The appearance of Galaxy A-series devices on Samsung’s testing servers shows that the company is now broadening development efforts across multiple product segments. This could pave the way for future beta testing on additional devices, although Samsung has not officially confirmed any expansion plans yet.

What Could One UI 9 Bring?

The upcoming iteration of One UI is expected to be built on Android 17 and may introduce a variety of user interface refinements, performance improvements, enhanced multitasking features, and additional customization options. Early reports have pointed to improvements in system controls, lock screen functionality, notifications, and productivity features.

Samsung has not yet published a complete changelog for One UI 9, but more features are expected to emerge as beta testing progresses throughout the year.

When Will Galaxy A17, A34, and A57 Get One UI 9?

At the moment, there is no official release schedule for the Galaxy A17, Galaxy A34, or Galaxy A57. Since testing has only recently begun, stable updates are likely still several months away. Samsung traditionally prioritizes flagship devices before expanding major Android updates to mid-range models.

However, the discovery of these test builds is a positive sign for Galaxy A-series owners, confirming that Samsung is actively preparing Android 17-based software for these devices. As development continues, more Galaxy smartphones and tablets are expected to appear on Samsung’s test servers, offering a clearer picture of the company’s One UI 9 rollout plans.
