Xiaomi has started testing its next iteration of HyperOS. The Chinese company recently finalized the development of Xiaomi HyperOS 2 to focus on the upcoming OS. We believe the upgrade will arrive for eligible users in the coming weeks, with Android 16 set to be part of the build.
Xiaomi is one of the companies that has improved the release of its latest Android skin. With HyperOS 3 tipped to arrive with Android 16, eligible users will receive both simultaneously, and Xiaomi has intensified the development. According to a report, Xiaomi HyperOS 3 Beta might launch later this month, meaning the company has been working on this update for some time.
What we know about Xiaomi HyperOS 3 release date

In the past two years, a new iteration of HyperOS debuted in October. It has always been during the unveiling of Xiaomi’s latest flagship phones. That doesn’t seem to have changed. With the Chinese company expected to commence a beta program later this month, we believe it will take some weeks before it becomes stable for the public.
That said, Xiaomi is likely to release the stable HyperOS 3 update in October after the release of the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro. Both phones will run the build outside of the box with Android 16. Hopefully, after the unveiling, we will get an official list of devices eligible for the update and the timeframe for the arrival.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 is tipped to introduce new features, optimization, and security enhancements. Reports suggest an Enhanced User Interface, and we understand some app icons have been revamped, including the battery icon. As always, animation will become smoother with the company focusing on transitions and system responsiveness.
Since moving to HyperOS, Xiaomi has continued work on performance, and they will keep improving. HyperOS 3 will ensure better resource management for swift operations. There will be some security enhancements and system stability.
Xiaomi HyperOS 3 release date for stable users
There’s no official timeframe for the release, but the company is leaning towards an October launch. That has always been when a new iteration of HyperOS is released to the public, and it seems to be the case with HyperOS 3. Of course, things can change, especially with some devices already getting an upgrade to Android 16.
Additionally, HyperOS 3 is not a big upgrade, with few user-facing changes. That can speed up the process. Nevertheless, we have yet to hear from Xiaomi about its plans to release the upgrade, but we hope to hear in the coming weeks.
