Google has recently released a new Android Auto update for beta program participants. It has yet to release the build to stable users, but with the latest development, the rollout might be delayed.
Those who installed Android Auto 15.2 Beta are having issues reading what is on the music player widget. It’s an issue that started after the recent update, although it has to do with the upcoming light theme.

Details of the latest Android Auto update 15.2 bug
The reason for the Music Player widget on the Android Auto dashboard is to make it easy to see what’s playing and control it. At a glance, you can see the title, artist, and album art with basic controls. To reveal the full music app, you tap on the widget, but that’s not even possible, as you can’t see anything on it.
According to reports, the text on the Music Player widget is unreadable. The reason is the background color, which is said to be caused by the upcoming light theme. This enables the light version of the music player by default, which is why it’s a beta build. Google will probably address the problem before a stable release.
Meanwhile, there is a workaround, perhaps you have not installed the Android Auto 15.2 Beta update. If you did, you can uninstall the latest update and move to an older version to have the widget working properly again.
Some users say that when Android Auto launches while the car is in “night” mode, the issue does not appear. Additionally, the widget worked well in the evening but came back the next morning, according to another user.
