One UI 8.5 is gradually making its way to more Samsung smartphones as the company prepares for a wider rollout. While the stable update has yet to reach older Galaxy devices, new signs suggest the beta program will soon expand beyond the current lineup.

At the moment, the update is primarily being tested on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The software has already debuted on the newer Samsung Galaxy S26 series, meaning it’s only a matter of time before it becomes available for more devices.
Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7 Could Join the Beta Soon
According to recent reports, Samsung is preparing to open the One UI 8.5 beta program for its latest Foldables — the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7.
New official firmware files for both devices were recently spotted on Samsung’s servers, which usually signals that testing is about to begin. In addition, Samsung has already created dedicated sections for the One UI 8.5 beta program for both devices on its community forums.
Although the company has not made an official announcement yet, these developments strongly suggest that the beta update could go live very soon.
How Users Will Get the Beta Update
Once the beta program opens, eligible users will be able to install the update after registering through the Samsung Members app. As with previous beta programs, the rollout may initially be limited to select regions before expanding further.
Participants will get early access to new features and improvements while helping Samsung identify bugs and performance issues before the stable release.
One UI 8.5 Brings Android 16 and New AI Features
One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 and introduces several improvements over its predecessor. The update focuses on enhanced customization, smarter AI-powered tools, and stronger security protections.
Samsung is also expected to include performance optimizations and system stability improvements, making the software feel smoother and more refined.
Stable Rollout Could Follow After Beta Testing
If Samsung follows its usual rollout pattern, the One UI 8.5 beta program will likely run for several weeks. Once the stable version begins rolling out to the Galaxy S25 series, it will indicate that the testing phase is nearly complete. After that, other eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets may receive the update directly as a stable build without going through the beta phase.
For now, Samsung users can expect an official announcement soon as the company prepares to expand the One UI 8.5 beta program to more devices.
