Samsung only started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update, which it tested for months, but the company is already planning the One UI 9 beta release. The Korean company has quietly created forums on the official Samsung forum in multiple countries, hinting at an imminent release of the One UI 9 beta update.

Samsung usually announces a new beta program. We get to know about these things once the company starts creating a new forum for a beta program in its official community. That’s the case this time with a new forum for the One UI 9 Beta program going live in multiple regions.
Details of the Samsung One UI 9 beta update
So far, the company has created One UI 9 beta forums for the Galaxy S26 series phones in Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the USA, and the UK. These countries are where Samsung usually organizes beta programs, and we believe a new build is coming.
Samsung One UI 9 will be based on Android 17, which is already at a stable stage. Google will officially present it during the I/O event later this month, and perhaps that’s when the One UI 9 beta update will go live. Just as we have seen with the just-concluded One UI 8.5 beta, it will take months for the stable build to become available.
So far, we only know about a few One UI 9 features, but it will integrate most Android 17 features. This means we could see more Quick Settings customization, expanded App Bubbles, an improved Desktop Mode, an expanded Dark Theme, automatically themed all icons, Live updates for more types of apps, agentic AI features, and others.
