Xiaomi has been pushing the stable HyperOS 3 update to many devices, including POCO phones. The Poco F7 was one of the first models to receive the upgrade. But soon after installing the update, some users started complaining about a strange problem — the Poco F7 Random Reboot issue, which appeared to be connected to Wi-Fi usage.
This kind of problem is rare because it’s unusual for a Wi-Fi connection to cause a phone to reboot. The issue began after users installed the stable OS3.0.3.0.WOLMIXM build, which also brought Android 16 to the device. Not everyone had the problem, but those who did found it very frustrating. Thankfully, Xiaomi has now fixed it.
What Caused the POCO F7 Random Reboot Issue?
Reports show that the reboot problem was caused by a clash between the phone’s network communication module and its power management system. Each time the Poco F7 tried to establish or switch network connections, the system kernel became unstable, leading to an automatic reboot.
Xiaomi developers were able to confirm the cause after checking bug reports and performing heavy testing under different network conditions. They improved how HyperOS handles network switching and system memory during connection changes.
How to Fix the POCO F7 Random Reboot Issue
Xiaomi has already released a fix through an OTA update. The new firmware version is OS3.0.4.0.WOLMIXM, and it is currently rolling out to beta testers. It should take a few more days before all Poco F7 users receive it.
You can check for the update manually by opening your phone’s updater app. Once the update is installed, your device will reboot. After that, you should no longer face the Poco F7 Random Reboot issue, especially when switching between networks.
While we haven’t seen full confirmation from all users yet, there are no reports suggesting the problem continues. As always, make sure to back up your important files before installing any new update.
