Samsung has begun rolling out the Galaxy S23 stable One UI 8.5 update. It’s a limited release, with only select users and regions receiving the upgrade. Of all the features of One UI 8.5, many people are more interested in knowing if the Galaxy S23 got AirDrop support via Quick Share with the update.

According to the latest report, Google has released a list of additional phones, including the Pixel 8a, that now support AirDrop interoperability. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean support will be coming to mid-range phones, but phones that support “chip-level networking tweak.” It doesn’t seem the Galaxy S23 supports this feature, meaning it will probably miss out on the new addition.
However, Google plans to release a new feature that will allow Android phones to share files with iOS devices. It’s currently in the works, and with how it works, it will be available for the Galaxy S23 series phones. We understand a wider availability is expected in the coming weeks.
