Google introduced AirDrop support via Quick Share to Android phones months ago, but availability was limited to a few devices. The Pixel 10 series phones were the first to receive AirDrop interoperability, which has since expanded to other Android phones, including the Pixel 9 series and Pixel 8a.

It was only a matter of time before Samsung phones started receiving support, and it arrived with One UI 8.5. Unfortunately, it has been limited to a few devices. You can check the supported phones here, as well as those expected to receive it in the future. Meanwhile, we expect new Android phones to debut with support, and that’s the case with the Xiaomi 17T series phones.
Xiaomi phones now support AirDrop via Quick Share
Xiaomi phones now support AirDrop via Quick Share thanks to the recently released Xiaomi 17T phones. Of course, they are not the only phones from the company that will support the feature, but so far, only the duo has been announced to support it.
How AirDrop support via Quick Share works on Xiaomi phones
Xiaomi is not shy about copying Apple, but it hasn’t managed a seamless way to transfer files between the two ecosystems for a long time. With AirDrop support via Quick Share now available on Android phones, Xiaomi is taking advantage of it. You can now share files and photos from Apple devices to your Xiaomi phone.
All iOS devices are supported as long as they are set to “Everyone” mode. That means you can share files with iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks using your Android phone. Once everything is set up, the Apple device should immediately appear on nearby Android phones that want to share files.
Xiaomi phones now support AirDrop via Quick Share
Xiaomi has only confirmed support for two of its models. It seems the company is focusing on new devices, with only the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro currently supported. We expect an expansion in the coming weeks. We will update this list once support arrives for other phones.
