Samsung has officially started rolling out the Galaxy A36 stable One UI 8.5 update, bringing new features, UI improvements, and security enhancements to eligible devices worldwide.
The company recently wrapped up the One UI 8.5 beta testing program, paving the way for the stable rollout. The update first appeared for beta participants but is now expanding to all eligible Galaxy A36 units globally. Since the release is happening in phases, availability may vary by region.

Galaxy A36 users can manually check for the update by navigating to:

Details of the Galaxy A36 stable One UI 8.5 update
The latest firmware arrives with version A366BXXU9CZDD and carries a download size of approximately 2.5GB. Samsung is also bundling the May 2025 Android security patch, aimed at improving device protection and overall system stability.
One UI 8.5 introduces a collection of software refinements, performance optimizations, and new features designed to improve the Galaxy experience. However, some premium Galaxy AI and flagship-exclusive capabilities remain unavailable on Samsung’s mid-range lineup.
For example, the Galaxy A36 does not gain support for AirDrop-style file transfers through Samsung Quick Share enhancements that are reserved for select higher-end models.
After installation, Galaxy A36 users can expect:
- Improved system stability
- Refreshed user interface enhancements
- Better security protections
- Performance optimizations
- New One UI features available for supported mid-range devices
Samsung continues to expand the One UI 8.5 rollout across eligible Galaxy smartphones, with more devices expected to receive the update in the coming weeks.
If the update has not appeared on your Galaxy A36 yet, keep checking periodically, as Samsung is releasing it in batches globally.
