    May 2026 security patch for Pixel phones is now available

    Google has released the May 2026 security patch for Pixel phones. It’s a global release, meaning all the eligible devices are receiving the upgrade in every region.

    The May 2026 security patch update for Pixel phones is rolling out with a firmware version CP1A.260505.005. It bumps the Android security patch level to May and patches all security vulnerabilities reported before the release. That means only a single security issue was resolved in the Android 16 May patch dated 2026-05-01.

    Additionally, the update comes with many bug fixes and optimizations. We recommend installing it when prompted, or you can check for it manually. Below is the complete changelog.

    • Fix for slow wireless charging speeds when the battery level is between 75% and 80% in certain conditions*[1]

    • Fix for an issue where the camera app could freeze while recording video and adjusting the zoom level*[4]

    Display & Graphics

    • Fix for an issue that caused a persistent flickering white dot or visual noise to appear at the top of the display in certain conditions*[3]
    • Fix for an issue that could intermittently cause the screen to appear fuzzy, frozen, or display noise lines*[2]

    Framework

    • Fix for an issue where the keyboard or input screen could appear frozen or incorrectly positioned in some apps under certain conditions*[1]
