Google has just released the May 2026 security patch update, and as expected, it comes with bug fixes and system optimization. Prior to the release, there have been reports of slow wireless charging and battery drain that started after the March security patch, but it seems that only the issues have been resolved.

Google fixes the Slow wireless charging issue with the May 2026 security patch
According to the May 2026 security patch update changelog, a “Fix for slow wireless charging speeds when the battery level is between 75% and 80% in certain conditions” is included in the package. That’s the only fix under battery & charging, which suggests the battery drain issue people have reported has not been fixed.
Nevertheless, it’s possible Google has resolved the battery drain problem but didn’t include it in the changelog, as sometimes that could be the case. Since the update started rolling out a few hours ago, we will find out in the coming days if the battery performance has improved.
If you have been having issues with your device getting to 100% when it reaches between 75% and 80%, then you should experience faster charging after installing the latest build. You can follow our Telegram channel for more updates on your Pixel devices.
