Samsung phones are the first to receive a new security patch update. We were hoping for the May 2016 security patch, but the new Galaxy S26 series update fails to bring the expected build. The new release is a camera bug fix version of the April 2026 security patch.

The next update from Samsung is likely to bring the One UI 8.5 build at least for the Galaxy 25 series. Galaxy S26 series phones are already running the build, so we expect the May 2026 security patch to start rolling out when the S25 series starts receiving the One UI 8.5 update. Meanwhile, you should install the new update to resolve camera-related issues on your Galaxy S25.
