It has been months since Samsung started testing the One UI 8.5 build, but it has yet to release the stable update. While the company never announced a release date, reports hinted at April 30. Of course, that did not happen as the stable One UI 8.5 has yet to start seeding. Meanwhile, a new release date has been tipped, and we might finally see the release this week.

According to recent reports, Samsung will start rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update on May 8. The rollout will start with the Galaxy S25 series phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7. These phones will receive the much-anticipated upgrade in Canada on this supposed date.
We already saw the final beta build for the Galaxy S25 series phones, at least, and it makes sense to see the stable build next. Additionally, Samsung usually releases the latest security patch build within the first few days of each month. They are yet to do that, meaning they could be planning to release the May security patch alongside the stable One UI 8.5 update.
Meanwhile, the stable One UI 8.5 update could start rolling out for those in Korea today. A different report suggests Samsung is ready for deployment in its home country. At the time of this report, there has been no movement on the servers. Usually, we would have started seeing reports of the release by now, but things can change in the coming hours.
We hope to see the rollout commence in the coming days, and it would be even better if it starts today, according to reports. Depending on when the rollout starts, the Galaxy S25 series phones will be first in line, and that will mark the end of all beta programs.
